All year round I am a victim of many annoying, itchy and ugly bites. I read about others suffering the same on a local Facebook page and Avon Skin So Soft Original Dry Oil Spray was recommended numerous times as an insect repellant. I ordered a couple of bottles and put it to the test! After using morning and night for over a week I can honestly say it worked for me. My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a special day at the beach. Max Beach offer a “Girls just wanna have fun” day on Wednesdays. The cost was €100 for a day bed with 2 towels, a bottle of Cava and vegetable sushi bites. Such a fun day! Brilliant atmosphere, food and service. For lunch we shared a pizza and cheesy bacon fries which were delicious and portions more than enough to share. Thoroughly recommended and would definitely go again. The weather forecast looked good for today so we went to Unico the newly opened beach club in La Cala. We had been before with the family and found it ok. The food is really good but the day bed service was mediocre. Sometimes new places (in my experience) take time to settle and for staff to make a difference. It was marginally better today but we still had to order a few drinks at the bar when waiter service disappeared!? We paid €50 for a very comfortable day bed including 2 towels and 2 cocktails. A lovely little walk today led us to Simple Cafe & Copas at Butiplaya next to the BP station. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed a drink with tapas. Fresh homemade food served with a smile! Perfect! A couple of pics showing delicious beef stew and a Spanish omelette with goats cheese & savoury jam. The cakes looked amazing too! A fabulous little find. Spent today at La Familia on El Bombo beach in Torrenueva. I can thoroughly recommend! A sun-bed including mattress and a drink cost €6.50. We had a lovely lunch there too. I had a delicious prawn cocktail and my husband a tuna sandwich washed down with a bottle of white wine. If you do decide to spend the day and have lunch be sure to book a table when you arrive as the restaurant does get busy.
